The Evros Regional Unit is one of the richest areas in Greece in terms of biodiversity, particularly the Evros Delta, the Dadia Forest, and, of course, Lyra with its renowned raptor photography hide.
With wintering species arriving to spend the colder months in Greece, the region offers excellent opportunities to observe and photograph a wide variety of birds, especially birds of prey.
Cinereous Vulture, Griffon Vulture, Golden Eagle, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Greater Spotted Eagle, White-tailed Eagle, Black Kite, Red Kite, Hen Harrier, Western Marsh Harrier, Common Buzzard, Tawny Owl, Little Owl, and Barn Owl are all species that have a strong chance of being photographed during our visit.
Add comfortable accommodation, traditional home-cooked meals at “Boufes & To Masali”, grilled specialties at “Armenis”, and, if time allows, fresh seafood at “Loukoulos”, and you’ll have a good idea of what makes this excursion so special.
